Help,

I am really really not happy with the fabias performance after my LEON 150 - I just cant get head round how different the performance is.

After having both from new this yr I can safely say the LEON blew the socks off it from the word go to the point where its scary. (This is in IMHO by the way)

I have a local dealer near me that can do a revo map on the VRS, but then I am going to have to splash for suspension to handle the upgrade.

Its either that or try and sell the car on now and take a hit - BMW 330d would beckon at that point..

Do I take the risk and splash a

If it was me, I'd be going for the 330d. In a league well above either the Fabia or the Leon imho. :D

Thats what im thinking, but then its selling the VRS thats the prob - a 56 with 1500 miles on the clock is going to be hard to sell private...:(

i expect any good bmw dealer would take the fabia off your hands in part exchange for a car

OH yes im sure they would but for what price :)

At the price YOU are happy with! Don't be afraid to haggle and screw the price right down. Ask for the "Total cost to change", it'll make you appear more serious in the dealer's eyes. Expect a 7% discount, plus some extras thrown in.

And do not be afraid to walk away. The dealer will want to sell more than you'll want to buy, so make him work for the sale.

I'm surprised the performance is all that different from the Leon 150. However after only 1,500 miles the engine will be nowhere near its best. If i were you I'd hang onto the VRS for at least another 5000 miles to give the engine a chance to loosen up. If it's still not fast enough you could then get it remapped for under £500.

I'm a bit confused why you want to go from a VRS to a BMW 330d? They are completely different cars. If you want a car that feels really quick then I'm not sure the 330d is the best bet. Don't get me wrong, it is a fast car, however it feels more effortless than fast (if you know what i mean!). If you go for a 330d you also need to be aware of the HUGE running costs (have you checked BMW labour rates?!!).

I am pretty surprised myself at the difference, the leon was faster from mile 0 and thats definate - and it got faster the nearer to 10k it got.

The VRS doesnt feel the same in anyway, but if its down to engine running in im prepared to give it a few k (I do a few).

The BMW offers bang for bucks really - I cant go back to petrol but I need more oomph for sure. In terms of BMW servicing I wouldnt go near a main dealer for normal stuff other than what they have to do specifically.

For 10-11k your looking at a higher mile BM anyway so less of a warranty issue

I take all your points tho

Update ! Been offered a 51 plate 2001 330d sport with the following * Black leather interior with carbon look trim * Xenon headlights with power wash * Parking sensors * Rain sensing wipers * MV 18" alloys * Cruise control * M-Tec multi function sports wheel * M-Tec chrome gear shifter * 6cd auto changer * etc Its got 98000 on the clock with FSH - very little cost to change what you guys think?

If it has a full BMW service history and it was a good price, I'd be going for it
