Nokia CK-7W install

Featured Replies

Best mount postion in my view is the Brodit one for the Mk 1 octavia. Dashmountis to low.

Stu do you have a part number for the oem mike?

This is the one listed for the OEM Bluetooth kit.

3B0 035 711 B B41

Not sure if it's mounted in the light though.

I've got one of these kits on order from fleabay and the seller must be Richie Benaud 'cos it's a l-o-n-g, s-l-o-w delivery!

In the meantime, a used one has turned up at work almost complete. I've now sourced a power cable for it which gives me another question, since I've no instructions. The box for the power cables shows four cables, permanent +Ve, Switched +Ve, common and CRM. The question is what is 'CRM' (yellow cable)? That might bring about questions 'where does it go?' and 'what's it for?', so if you know that to, please add the detail.

The aim is to wire it into the back of the head unit, so I assume that the speaker out from the car kit goes to the mute in on the head unit? OK, it's another question, I know

Wonder if you can get an OEM mic and a nokia mic, cut the cables on the noka and put a connector on it so you can use the OEM mic with the nokia car kit.

Obviously have to check the output levels of each mic, but just a thought.

Just drop the light out and have a look, the light is only held in by 2 screws. My octavia has no alarm and I put my mike behind the grill, had to cut it out the nokia casing. Works very well above the grill nd of course not visable.

Likewise, I did exactly this when fitting the handsfree in SWMBO's Fabia Estate & it works very well whilst keeping the microphone invisible.

The Yellow is the Radio Mute

Thanks. I had a feeling it might be - CRM=Car Radio Mute or similar.
