Slight problem on "super" unleaded...

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've got a slight problem when I use super unleaded 97 or 99 ron in my Octavia VRS MK1.

Basically for some very odd reason the boost only goes to 5 PSI rather than the usual 20 PSI..... anyone know what this could be?

Not too much of an issue though as i'll just stick to using 95 ron, would be nice to have the super option though!!!

Thanks

if your car has been mapped on 95 octane, the ignition timing may be too far advanced when using super, normally the ecu can handle this and will adapt the ignition timing to suit, but it might be out of it's adjustment range which may cause it to go back to a base setting for the turbo boost etc to protect the engine

super can take a higher degree of advance than 95ron though as its a more stable fuel though

if i was you i'd ask the company that remapped it :)

yea id second that, i only ever run mine on Vpower now so get them to remap it properly this time
