copying avi format to dvd?

im trying to copy a film ive got on the computer onto a dvd disc to play in my dvd player. its in avi format and wont play on the dvd player.:thumbdwn: is there something i have to do to the film before i copy it so i can watch it on my dvd player?:confused:

You need a program called WinAVI

It will convert just about any video format to DVD format then you just burn to the DVD disk and bobs yer uncle

or use any DVD authoring app, such as Adobe Encore

Buy a decent DVD player that can play AVI files ;)

get a yamada dvd player maplins had them for around 40 notes the one i got even plays records (i doesnt really but plays everything ive ever chucked in there)

Samsung DVD860 plays everything that fits in the drive for £79.99
