Removing spark plugs?

Featured Replies

My W reg Felicia 1.3 has started cutting out, before I start on possibly expensive trips down to Claybank/Horners for computer diagnosis? it has been suggested that I check the plugs, unfortunately it doesn't seem that obvious how you actually access them, can anyone help??, Also, As Felicia do not hold their value particularly well I am not convinced of the benefits of Skoda dealer stamps in my service book, so can should I still stick to Skoda dealers, or perhaps any VAG dealer or just my local garage (will he need special diagnostic tools? any recommendations? (I live in the Stockport area)

many thanks, lorri

The Felicia 1.3 does not have ignition leads as suggested it uses the ignition pack that fire all clyliners in one pack that fixes direct to the plugs there is not a 1.4 felicia. The pack is at the front of the engine closest to the radiator, and is located below the level of the rocker cover, but I am sure you have figured this out. I Doubt if its the plugs but heres how access is gained.

1. Disconect wiring plug to the unit.

2. using an allen key remove the two bolts underneath the bottom of the unit

3. pull unit off unit from the spark plugs

4. You can now access the spark plugs.

Personally I would stick to a Skoda dealershipwho will be familiar with these cars.

either temp sensor throttle valve body or lambda probe i would start with temp sensor first!!
