Burnsey aside from reduced noise have you seen improvement in mpg with Ultimate?

Used it for the last 5,000 miles and it's running at long term average of 40.2

Had been up as high as 41, but going down since it's been used round town for the last few weeks without a decent run. I don't use anything else. At local garage there is between 2 and 4p premium for ultimate, and so reckon in the grand scheme of things that this is only likely to cost less than

Your wallet won't though! IMHO BP ask a hefty premium for this fuel.

Locally, Shell garages sell the Shell Extra diesel as bog standard diesel.

Although the car ran smoother, and more responsive I didn't notice any improvement in economy. (That might have been me enjoying the better response though:D )

Just my ha'pence worth: :orb_geek:

Best of the lot by far is Biodiesel (100%) if you can get it AND your car is OK to run on it. My 2.5 V6TDi runs quieter than the BMW 530d I had before.

After trying both BP Ultimate and Shell extra (When I ran out of Bio), the only difference I could find was the price - the Shell doesn't sell for a premium price. Nowadays when supplies of Bio are dwindling I just fill up at the Supermarket then chuck 3 lires of Bio in the tank when I get home - same performance/economy as Shell/BP but better price and probably better for the car in the long run.

Lovely wheels...
