up side down or down side up

hi all. just got the lowering springs for my felicia 1.6. question is, whitch way up do the front springs go? one end is tightly coiled and the other is loose. whitch end goes at the top,and witch end at the top? hope you can help.

i would say , tight coil at the bottom , i expect TeflonTom to be along in a minute to confirm or correct my mistake, LOL

can you take a picture of the spring and post it please? what manufacturer are the springs from. by the fact the the springs have different pitch coils they sound like progressive springs to me

generally speaking the wider coils go at the bottom, which gives you a nice soft ride over normal light bumps, after which the tighter coils come into play and they have a much tigher tension which stops the suspension damper from bottoming out.....

the way to think of it is this, it's not the car that moves when you go over a bump, its the wheel that goes up and down in harmony with the road

trouble is different spring manufacturers design them in thier own ways so there's no set rules, i may see a picture of your springs and change my mind completely, aside from that you can normally tell which way they go by the shape of the ends of the spring
