an expensive favour

Featured Replies

did some taxi work tonight taking swmbo's sister to and from the hospital and by the time i dropped her off at home there was a funny rumble and vibration from the back but the car felt fine, anywho my mate lives round the corner from her so i popped round to say hi.

when i got there i took a look around the suspect corner and found 1/2" of nail sticking out of the sidewall of the tyre, the bloody thing has gone through the tread then back out of the sidewall.

sod it, best price i have found for a replacement is £77.40 delivered from mytyres and i know a local tyre fitters quite well luckily

bloody waste of a good tyre thats not that old :(

bengie, it never seems to happen to the one you are about to replace does it

I went through a spate of wrecked tyres a few years ago on the bike.

No chance of getting those repaired.

At least you never lost control :)

Unlucky mate :(

Tyres are like that, aren't they - expensive but worthless as soon as they get the slightest bit of damage - ho hum.

never mind, I'm sure you managed to get the spare out and get home OK........

oh, bugger...... where's the spare ?

yeah, annoying isn't it

Why was your spare at home??

You were lucky that you were near home

"Now let that be a lesson" he said

there isn't a space for a spare

Yep, again, I sympathise. Total bill of £240 to replace the cracked alloy and a tyre. Again, tyre still had 6mm to go. Not impressed.
