just spent all day over at the workshop lowering the car (98 felicia 1.6 glxi) droped it by 35mm and man does it look good for it. goes round corners like a roller skate. will try and put some pics up when i can find the camara.

so far = uprated brakes

induction kit

lowered

what shall i do next? the de-cat and cam. or the 15inch wheels with 195/50/15's on.

decat is an idea, but it needs putting back for MOT. Engine bits are always good mods - styling can be done once you're happy with the motor's performance. :)

styling as such is not guna happen. the wheels will be steels with octty hubcaps. the reson i want bigger wheels and lo-pro tyers is to cut down on squerm in the corners. street sleeper is the name of the game, NO BOLT ON PLASTIC!!!!! (sorry, just we have alot of ***** with all the body kits and no performance round hear). dose anyone know if a good cam for the 1.6.?

the next thing i would do is fit a 22mm front anti roll bar from a 2000 onwards vw caddy pick-up..

there are hundreds of cam options for the 1.6 engine, but it depends on what you want it to do?? you have to look at these sort of mods so that they work in harmont with other future mods..

if you are after a fairly mild fast road camshaft, then piper do a good one, remember if you go too 'lairy' with the cam it will idle like $hit and wont pass any emissions tests

nice one teflon, been looking for a caddy ARB but didnt know whitch year,so thats a greate help. as for the cam, the only mods will be the induction kit and the de-cat. as you said, all i am looking for is a nice little fast road cam. thanks for all you help

the part number for the 22mm front anti roll bar is 6U7 411 309

and the inner 22mm mounting bushes are 6U7 411 314 (you need 2 of these!)

and the outer ones are the same as the ones which are allready fitted to the 1.6 felicia, so thats

as for cams, firstly look at the the piper one with the part number VPHBP270H, which will give you a nice broad power band, and a steady idle, and also will pass emission tests easily!!!! it is advertised as a 270 degree cam, but in reality, becuase of the way they measure them it's somewhere around 250 degrees at 1mm lift (by my calculations anyway!), this will bring the engine alive and shouldn't affect the fueling too much, so it will be perfectly happy with the standard 'map'

the next thing i would look at after this is a extractor type exhaust manifold,

eBay.co.uk: VW POLO ALL ENGINE NEW STAINLESS STEEL MANIFOLD (item 150062570240 end time 28-Nov-06 01:06:00 GMT)

these are about the best you can get for the money (around £150) unless you wanna splash out for a supersprint one which is about 300 squids.

although strictly speaking they are not actually for the felicia, they are deisgned for the 6n polo, and therefore the bit that joins onto the cat is slightly the wrong shape, and the wrong length, if you use a cat from a 1.3 felicia (or a decat pipe:D ) then all is required is a little fettling from sombody with stainless steel fabrication knowledge to make them fit, plus it also has a boss in exactly the right place for the lambda probe too!

that my friend, is the answer i was looking for. as for the manifold, it just so happens that i'm a fabricater who works with all kinds of materials. now thats handy.

thers to much rain to get it propper dirrrty, its a bit of an attempt to hid the fact that it is (under that camo dirt) infact pink!!

Also available in red

Can i use my existing mounts with the new bushes or will i need 1.6 ones as my car is a 1300?

I have heard of a MK3 Golf diesel ARB being used, but dont know if this was a straight swap.

Wanna borrow my jetwash Pinky?:P

yes you can re-used the brackets, all you need to do is fit the larger bushes

Cheers "Teflon"

Looks like I'l be visiting Mr Butt for some bits and bobs.
