Audi A3 2.0TFSI Quattro

Featured Replies

Hi all,

just wondering if anyone has driven one of these cars? any reviews or opinions on how they drive?

thanks:D

good engine :)

Not driven one, but I do like the 2.0TFSI engine, lots.

Not thinking of chopping in the A4, surely?

Why do you think this thread has been posted then ;):D

Edit: I agree with Tom, the engine is an absolute corker but I can't speak for the A3 as I've not driven it.

yeah it has crossed my mind :(

I'm considering the Sportback S-Line SE....I know the 2.0l TFSI engine is good but I'm thinking along the lines of 3.2v6...yes...I could remap the TFSI and get practically the same performance and better mpg but you could never make a 4pot sound like a 6 pot...one of my requirements is a 6pot engine....will be sorting a test drive very soon.

Getting a TFSI, having it mapped....it's too much like tempting fate...;) .

They are a great car, but personally unless you have a real need for the quattro four wheel drive I would go for the FWD and not only save some money, but more importantly not blunt the performance by removing all the heavy gear that goes with the 4wd version.

I've driven the 2.0TFSI Quattro in the A4, absolute hoot with masses of grip in the wet. I went round quite a small roundabout a few times on my test drive at speeds that would have a FWD understeering into the bushes.

Launching from standstill was seriously rapid also in the wet. If I had the choice it would be 4WD every single time and agree that the TFSI is a brilliant engine.

yeah my current A4 is quattro and tbh living in scotland it gets plenty of use, its not a requirement but handy when you need it.

i drove a remapped 2.0TFSI on saturday, bloody hell, seriously quick i was amazed how fast it was

I had a quick go in 2WD varient of one of these - liked it a lot. That said, it's probably the 'safest' handling cars in the VAG stable with this engine IMO. I haven't driven the relevant Leon, Golf or vRS but would imagine they'd all be a bit more fun overall with probably the Golf in the top spot. Of course, with the addition of Quattro that might change everything!

Not and out and out criticism of the car, I'd still buy one if I had that sort of cash handy. The one I drove was an S-Line Audi demo and totalled upto nearly 27k once all the options had been paid for

I'm sure, while being sensible with the options list, you could have a Sport Quattro for quite a bit less. Would you go for 3 or 5dr? New? DSG? Ooh the decisions! ;)

it would be 2nd hand anyway mate. maybe a 55plate. definately a 3dr.

seen a few on the audi website i liked :)

I think 3dr would be the way to go, personally. Just wasn't sure, as your recent history has been with 5drs :)

Go and give one a whirl anyway, there would be worst choices! :D

yeah, only reason for 5drs they havent offered 3drs on my last 2 cars :)

will see what happens :D

Rich1068 bought one to replace his Octy Mk1 vRS after test driving the Golf GTI and Octy Mk2 vRS. He seems to like it alot and in S-Line trim it's a great looking car.

Anyone know what the difference in spec is between the Sport and S-Line models, apart from bigger wheels? Seems to be quite a price difference. Just wondered what other goodies you got...

I thnk the sport has the same sports suspension and sports seats but the rest is really trrim.

S-Line has part leather interior as per Octy RS.

Once I've specced up the A3 SB 3.2 S-Line it's more than the S3....but that's only a 3dr....need 5drs.:(

There is quite a bit of difference between the two models.

That's a very nice looking car - good spec too.

Got quite a few optional extra's on it too -- always make the best value used buys.

[*]20 Spoke Alloy wheels --

You could sell them on eBay and then have standard painted mirror caps if you wanted they only cost about

Sorry, I was looking at a very similar car on Audis site that had DSG...

Sorry...
