I have seen many threads about using the alloys of other cars in the VW family. I am interested in reducing the unsrung weight thus improving performance. Surely all of the other alloys (17" and above) are heavier than the 16" on my 1.8T Elegance. Are they any light weight alloys in the VW family or has anyone used light alloys. Pictures will be most appreciated (if available)

What sort of budget are you looking at? Also, remember that, if you're going down this route, all tyres of a given size are not the same weight.
