google search history

Featured Replies

anyone know how to clear the search history you know the drop down thing that leaves clues about what car parts you've been searching for

any the johnny vaughn of course!!!!

is that in the google toolbar?...if so then when you type something in & the dropdown list appears scroll to the bottom & you should find 'clear history'

that's the autocomplete thing isn't it??

are you using explorer??

click on the tools option on the top of the browser, then select internet options, click on the content tab, then on autocomplete, then you can clear forms and passwords individually..

iirc you have to close and re-open explorer for the changes to take effect...

nice one they both came in handy i remembered as soon as you said all sorted now cheers fella's

remember to clear your temporary files as well as your history, some temporary files are cookies and can take someone [ie a nosey IT admin type person] directly to the pages you have been viewing.

Silly question..where does it all go when you delete it?

Same question for the recycle bin?

Always wondered if it just disappears into thin air:confused:

Windows just marks the section of the disk on which the data is held as "reusable".

So the files are still there, and if you don't create any more files then it would be possible for a disk recovery tool to undelete these files. If you've created more files, they may now occupy the previously-used section on the disk which makes it harder to recover the deleted stuff...

Rob.

Click the Gv symbol on the left of the box, select "Manage". This brings up the Toolbar Options box. Click on the "Features" tab, then the "Search Box Settings" button. Un-tick "Suggest searches from my search history". :)

It's all-or nothing, unfortunately - you can't delete your search history on demand like you could on the old version... :thumbdwn:
