The engine is in a really bad state. I found a replacement engine.

Would an engine from a Seat Leon fit a Skoda Octavia ... Its the same engine code ???

If the engine code is the same then it should fit I would think, but your garage would be able to tell you for sure.

I can't say i know what they mean oil ring fused to piston, but i'm sure somebody will come along with a better idea shortly.

TBH I would expect a car to last more than 4 years and as such I'd be asking the garage for a full report to be given to you with pictures (maybe pay them to do it) so you can go to trading standards and ask them about showing the car as not fit for purpose.
