TDI oil?

Featured Replies

I am vey confused,I contacted Skoda about what sort of oil to put in my 2001 Fabia TDI,I hade some information saying only VW505-01 oil was suitable, but Skoda replied saying

VW504-00,VW501-01 and VW502-00 were suitable and did not mention VW505-01 at all.

So which is it????

or have I got the wrong information from Skoda??

It should be PD specific 505.01 oil. I think 506.01 oil is for long life, but 505.01 is fine for the PD engines if on a 10k interval between changes. I use Millers XFE-PD in my TDI - best and cheapest PD oil (VW approvied too) that I've found @ around £23-£25 for 5 litres.

i used Millers oil as above which is specially for VX Tdi engines and highly recommend.

meets all VAG specs used for 40k miles.

Use a 505.01 oil.

The confusion may be because early TDI Fabias weren't so fussy about what oil they needed (my 2000 TDI ran on Magnetec D for years). I seem to recall the 505.01 stipulation coming in round about 2002.

I did give Skoda the vin ,so I Mine must have one of the old TDI motors fitted even though it's a late 2001 model.

I am still not too sure:confused:
