I think you're about right there. The pump is located behind the front right wheel arch, and removing the bumper would probably be needed to gain access.

If I had been in your shoes I would have tried to look for a 2nd hand one out of a salvage / spares car from a scrapyard. There's plenty about and I'm sure you could have had one cheap. As a guideline, I sold the pump from my wrecked Fabia for only £40 on Ebay.
