Vehicle exchange - am I right to expect....

Featured Replies

I bought a used vehicle 10 days ago and to cut a long story short the dealer has agreed to exchange it for another vehicle under the manufacturer's 30 day / 1000 mile exchange policy.

Am I right to approach the exchange vehicle in the same way as I did the initial (and all) purchase ie. Expect a full valet, any servicing / fluid changes that should be done etc etc

Haven't quite got to this stage yet, but can't help wondering if to ask for these things is to be asking too much of the dealer, who has been very amenable so far.

I would expect so as it's a direct replacement. Slightly O/T, but does the replacement come with the same 30 day/1000 mile exchange policy? I can see some dirt cheap motoring coming on if so!

If you don't ask, you won't get unless it's policy. I know that some dealers sell all cars with a 12_000 mile service and full valet, and would expect them to do the same thing with exchanges.

Thanks guys.

Main sticking point at the moment seems to be the cruise control. The existing vehicle has it on and the new one doesn't, therefore I am asking that it be swapped over as it is essentially plug & play but am meeting some resistance.

I wouldn't be bothering if it were rear parking sensors as I am not bothered about those, but do use the cruise a lot.

Is the dealer in Swindon or near Devizes? .....Swindon = UMMmmmm maybe ......Devizes = normally very approachable
