Pictures of my Yellow RS on RS4's

Very, very nice indeed.

Are you planning on keeping the Audi badges?

Nice alloys but (IMHO) you need to get rid of the Audi badges on them!

Like the pics Mark, they go well with the yellow! :D

Can I ask if you get any rubbing/scrubbing at all with the wider tyres, especially in the worst case scenario with four adults installed and taking a roundabout 'hastily'! One thing I wouldn't want to have to do is worry about how many passengers I can carry, as a friend of mine has to do with his Mk3 Golf on either 17's or 18's :? He can't carry any rear passengers without the tyres scrubbing over the slightest bumps, but he does get out of driving anywhere which maybe is one advantage I suppose!

I take it the offset dimension of the wheel is the same for all VAG motors (so Audi wheels cause no niggly problems when used with Skoda's etc.), as I assume they use the same hub/axle setup?

Mark D.

They do look nice. Saw some on a Leon, but IMO they look better on the RS. What width and offset are they? And have you lowered the car?

Reason for that is, as Mark asked, related to scuffing. When I had mine lowered I found that the edges of the car were scuffing the tyres when fully loaded and taking corners. I was on standard rims, but 225/45 tyres.

 Haven't seen [i:b468746268]hugh[/i:b468746268] around here for a while (cringe)

Don't want to come across all MAX Power :auto: (again). But hey ho.

Bigger rims / Lower car will be a problem, arch wise for the skud as the width of the wheels / spacing of the hubs fills out to the width of the respective arches nicely. Visually that is a good thing :thumb: . But clearance wise it's a bad thing :( .

Advice. The boys in baseball caps who put 18s / 19s / 20s on their citroen saxos have to roll their arches. Companies like Extreme in Harlow do this. It basically involves warming up the arch area then attaching a tool to the hub which reaches up into the arch and rolls the inner lip up. Technologies come on a bit and I think this process is none destructive to the paintwork. I think if you put on big rims and lower then this is the way forward.

I would guess that if anyone goes bigger than 18s they would have to take out the plastic inner arch. Monster rims (22s (I think) from the new Porsche Cayenne ?) would probably involve putting coil overs on due to the fact that the inner rim of the wheels fouls on the suspension turret.

Sorry if any of that is patronising

P.S. I fancy the twisted five spoke 18s off a 911 turbo with brakes to match

235 is the widest tyre that can be accomodated on a standard RS, anything bigger will rub.

My problem came with lowereing (yes, I did get the geometry reset), filling the car up and then having the audacity to try to go round corners.

19s fit quite well, have a look on Manny's website ( www.octaviars.com) go to black ones and Jacco has some 19" OZ Antares on. I reckon it needs a brake conversion as the large standard disks now look very small.

Yep yep, seen 'em all and they look nice nice nice 8) . This is pie in the sky now, but when the vRS gets a bit longer in the tooth people will start doing mad things like wider arches etc. Those Porsche wheels may not then be a problem ;)

Mille Miglia (hope my spelling is correct) do the Porsche wheels in various sizes and offsets. I too was tempted by the Cup wheels. Have a look at their website and you too could have some 911 wheels on your Skoda.

It's sounding quite good as regards rubbing tyres/arches etc. Without lowering (not on my list I'm afraid!) the consensus seems to be that 225/40/ R18's will not rub even when fully loaded. :D

Excellent!

Mine isn't lowered at all, if I get 3 lard arses in the back it can rub a little, but generally I don't have a problem. The tyres are 225/40/18 by the way. As for offset etc, i'm not sure, but I think they are VW fitment - AmD supplies them for Audi or VW.

In response to the Audi badge comments above, I'm not aware of a non-audi badge for these wheels, so will have to put up with the stigma unfortunately

Having just looked at Jabbasports website, at

I too was tempted by the Cup wheels

I've got a bit of a future potentially wallet lightening porsche extra fascination at the moment and the temptation is strong

I think it's based on the old Audi / Porsche RS2 which was absolutely mindblowing.

As for the remap Q above. I say do it. But if you're a worrier then go for the REVO stuff. As an aside point Matey boy at FORGE told me over the phone that they were talking to Thatcham to get the SPS2 security feature an official rating

Don't anyone forget the 14th now :flower:

Tobmob

Thanx for the pix , those wheels look great on your car...and it also makes me wish i didnt buy the 1st car my dealer got in , but ordered a yellow one instead! The numberplates schweet too! :thumb:
