Service Intervals (again!!)

Featured Replies

 Folks, I know this subject has been posted before but as a new Octy vRS owner and a newbie to this site, I thought I would ask the question again so please bear with me.

My car has done 13k and according to the service book is on variable servicing. It also says an inspection? was done at 10k. I don't use the car every day and when I do it sometimes gets driven hard and sometimes not so hard. Not knowing the cars history I spoke to my local dealer with the idea that I would get it serviced to make sure all is ok. They told me that I should be ok on the variable and just take it into them when the car tells me.

Is it best to get the car changed to fixed servicing and get it done now or, should I leave it until the service indicator comes on? If I leave it, should I at least get an oil/filter change now (the oil looks appears very black and looks a bit on the low side).

What you all think???

Leave it until the car tells you, and top up the oil with the correct type. Dont worry about the black oil its normal, the sensors in the engine monitor the oil so all should be ok. The oil is designed to last upto 20k miles or 2 years anyway.
