Dynatwist CAI & petrol smell

Featured Replies

Has anyone else on here fitted a Dynatwist Induction kit? If so, have you ever noticed a smell of petrol in the car, usually when sat in traffic?

Mine does this, especially if you pull up on the motorway after a spell of fast driving and you get stuck in traffic.

I've pulled over when it happens, and checked under the bonnet, and there's no apparent whiff of petrol in the engine compartment, and certainly no sign of a fuel leak. I'm going to get it checked by a garage next week, but I wondered if anyone else had noticed the same problem?

Chris,

I haven't experiened this and run my Dynatwist for over 5k miles......have you connected up the little filter properly....it sits on the pipe that used to go into the standard airbox......this is to take fumes back to the fuel tank (I think).

Cheers.

Hi Adrian,

I was under the impression that the small green filter was for the crankcase vent ... .

hmmmmmm ... I'll take a proper look at it tomorrow. I was wondering if the smell was a side effect of the Dynatwist kit, but it would seem not. Oh well, it hasn't burst into flames yet :)

Hi Chris,

must admit I don't really know where the tube came from...I just took it off the standard airbox and put the mini filter in. ;)

Lets us know how you get on.

Adrian.
