Engine Oil- Which One?

Featured Replies

HI. I HAVE A SKODA FABIA 1.9TDI 100BHP ELEGANCE. I HAVE BEEN USING THE CASTROL GTD 10W40 OIL. IS THIS THE CORRECT ONE?

You are using the wrong oil and wearing parts of your engine prematurely.

As Xav said, you need 505.01 or 506.01 spec oil which is made for the VW PD engines.

You should get an oil and filter change pretty quickly. Sorry for the bad news :(

thanks. for your advise. will do asap.

You must use an oil which meets specification VW 505 01. The following oils are approved to that specification:

BP Special Visco V 5W-40 (fully synthetic)

Castrol GTD 505 01 5W-40

DEA Ultec Diesel SAE 5W-40

Delphi Prestige Diesel Plus 5W-40 (synthetic-based)

Esso 505 01 5W-40

Fuchs Titan Supersyn SL PD SAE 5W-40 (fully synthetic)

Granville Topaz Diesel 5W-40 (semi-synthetic)

Madit 505 01

Migrol Special S-Plus

Millers XFE-PD SAE 5W-40 (semi-synthetic)
