Windscreen Scratches !

Featured Replies

Can anybody suggest an effective method of removing light scratches from a windscreen. Annoyingly I have a number of scratches caused by road grit / salt which describe the path of the wiper blades on my screen :(

Anybody else had a similar problem.....I reckon the quality of glass is not as good as it used to be years ago. T.I.A.

Same here mate, i have a nice little arc on the drivers side about 1/3 of the way up the screen

I have no idea if they can be polished out, but i'd certanly be interested if it's possible.

Brasso metal polish should do it but your best bet is to find someone who manufactures or refurbishes mechanical seals such as are used in pumps, industrial mixers etc. They use a lapping liquid which gives a very fine finish.

Whichever you use, try it on a bottle or similar first.
