Groan from rear over speed bumps

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have Groan noise coming from the rear of my car when going over speed bumps (at any speed above 10mph)and also when the rear of the car goes over undulations in the road surface.

At first I thought i was the rear seats or the parcel shelf but folding the seats and taking out the parcel shelf did not help. I have tightened up the spare wheel in the boot, nothing else in the boot either. So whats happening?

I seem to think it's coming from the tailgate, bumper or even light clusters.

anyone else had a similar issue?

p.s. there is no one in the back seats so it's not them maoning about my driving:rofl:

I've had this as well... not sure what it is though. I thought it was the rear seats too, but maybe it isn't after all. Other guess would be suspension bushes...

Sounds to me like your bushes. Mine were the same, then went from a groan to more of a thud before I got them replaced.

Mother-in-Law. You really should allow her to ride in the car with you.

Sorry - couldn't resist.

thanks for this. I think it does sound something rubbing. i'm not mechanically minded but I think it is the suspension. Will be taking it to the dealer in the new year.plus a list of other things.
