Some ijit, decided it would be funny to break my drivers side mirror off today.

The main metal has snapped, and it's black plastic trim has smashed.

Main body totally untouched, as is the mirror glass.

What is needed to get it running, can the guts be swapped over into a 2nd hand one, is it a complete item that needs painting, or can I transfer the outer red trim onto a new one.

What other cars share the same mirror with electric movement and heater like the vRS has. ??????

Same thing happened to my dads old Octavia. Ended up costing him

Waht year is your car , IIRC the earlier cars use the same mirror as MkIV Golf , Bora , and maybe Seat Leon/Toledo??

2005 in Red, if that helps at all.

I'm sure it had the same mirror as the Polo GT, I test drove the same time as the Fabia.

This looks the same but in the wrong colour, it has the lower removable trim I took of in the same place, and looks the same shape, but the wiring is coloured wrong !

Now on the wanted section ( I've taken it off to assess the damage )

Guess which bit is common only to the fabia....... The bit I had snapped

All the other bits are interchangable with the Golf/Leon/Octy/Polo as they are just trim/glass or motor.

The main body and it's cover that bolt to the car door is the bit I need.
