EGR & MAP Fault Codes on Fabia 1.4 16V

Featured Replies

Big question......(seems to be a common one given the amount threads on the subject!)

After a 40,000 service on my Y reg 1.4 16V Fabia (88,800 miles) yesterday a diagonstic check was done to try and clear the Engine Management light that seems to be constantly on at the mo. The EPC light is also coming on intermittently, although only when the engine is cold... Anyways the fault codes came back with EGR valve Flow too Low and a MAP Sensor Circuit Fault!!!! The car generally runs well, but suffers like most 5 year old fabias with the odd idling problem. Should the EGR valve be now replaced???? I only ask as I am looking to sell the car soon and don't want to shell out loads of cash..yet at the same time can't really skip round the big orange management light when selling. There is also a fair amount of white sludge build up around the oil filler cap....is this related to it through the piston heads????

Need some advice as the wife is about to drop out first sprog any day now, so need to fix the problem before the sleepless nights take their toll!

You close to Devon. I could try a scan and try to help :)
