Front grill badge

Featured Replies

My badge on the front grill has started to come off (and it has seen better days as well). Im thinking about getting a new one, does anyone know a part number/cost and also how easy is it to change?

Have a look on my Fabia site under colour coded grille.

have a look at Fabia-vrs.com - Colour Coded Grille & Octavia II vRS Badge

This is a direct lint to vrsStu's guide to the removal and retrofit of the front grille (just put my own colour coded grille on! cheers Stu!!)

part code for Skoda Emblem is 1U0 853 621 C MEL (about £12)

Mine were looking tired when I bought my Fabia , I got the garage to change both badges as a condition of sale , IIRC they just stick on , and have 3 pins to locate them , the time consuming bit is getting all the old glue ect off your car before you fit the new ones , if you dont , they do not stick as well as they should.

with regards to refitting the new badge; my local Halfords stock a 'Trim Repair Tape' which seems to be the same consistency of the bonding holding my old badge on....

you can also find this stuff on eBay: eBay.co.uk: Sellotape car trim repair tape (item 300025188711 end time 05-Jan-07 01:29:08 GMT)

Just cover the back of the new badge in strips of this stuff and apply to your grille! 1000 miles so far and no missing badge for me!

I'm about to swap my front and rear badges, and think a good old dose of hair dryer and sawing the back with wire should get them off. As for fitting their replacements, would a normal glue like araldite (Or however u spell it) do the job??
