Octavia Rear Window wind!

Featured Replies

Hi fellow Skoda drivers!

Had my Octavia 1.9 diesel Laurent and Klement about a year now and love it...except I have noticed over the last few months that it always sounds like i have the electric rear passenger window wound down about half an inch, with the accompanying 'wind rush' noise ever present above approx. 40mph. Its driving me mad.

Is it me? (And yes, i have CHECKED the window is fully wound up!!

Thanks!

Have you changed your tyres recently, I have found that certain tyres can be very intrusive.

There has been a lot discussed on this forum about an issue with rear quarterlight noise which can be greatly improved by the dealers, sometimes by just adding sealer.

don't the dealers fit a modified quarter glass seal

Yes, I've seen a couple of different fixes on this recently. One was just some kind of sealant, which the owner assured us was inviible once properly applied.

I had this problem, dealer quickly fixed it (Ithink by moving the glass) but the problem has now returned so it needs to go in again.

I had this problem with my passenger side rear quarterlight recently and the dealer replaced the glass and seal under warranty which has fixed the problem. However, when I was taking the car home from the garage down the motorway I discovered a similar problem with the driver side so it has been booked in again for later this month to have this fixed, under warranty as well. Just ask your dealer, it seems to be a common problem with the Octy.

Thanks everyone...i'll ring the dealership and see what they say.

What MY cars have expereinced this problem?

I think all of them. Its random how well it has been fitted.
