Octy 2 vs . . . .

Featured Replies

Anyone noticed a distinct lack of threads bearing that title?:thumbup:

Thats cause they all bought GTIs :P

No, I've seen one recently from yashicamat..:)

But I am wondering just what 'Octy 2 vs' means; Octy 2 versus ? However if it refers to Octy 2 vrS, then it's not surprising that there are few Octy 2 vs. Please enlighten.

Maybe we could have an Octy II 2.0 Tdi Elegance vs Octy II Tdi vRS discussion!!

Went out in an Audi A4 S-Line the other day. The only thing that really impressed me was the handling. I couldn't believe how the Audi stayed planted in fast corners, but then it's got ESP and sports suspension, which my Octy lacks. Howver, in most other respects I prefered my Octavia II Elegance. Headroom is better in the Octy as is the design of the arm rest and the general ambiance of the interior. The Octavia feels more mordern somehow. I guess this is because the A4 is an evolution of a fairly old platform.

Now that's a novel idea! ;)

ESP, sports supsension AND I assume quattro 4WD which is probably the most significant factor as to why it stays so planted.

My TT was the same.

I'd certainly be interested in driving one to see how it compares

Don't think you will notice much difference in everyday driving, it's only that last bit of the rev range that makes the difference.

I looked up some running cost figures on a fleet website to see if the vRS TDi would be much cheaper to run that it's petrol counterpart and it does appear that it wouldn't. Unless you were doing lots of miles you could lose money.
