i am at present repairing a cat d 05 vrs its going well except i have yet to get the power steering working i have fitted another pump its the same part number as the one i have removed could it be the sensor i have been quoted 60 plus 150 to fit it

could it be a vag com job to make it recognise the new pump

also has anyone got a cd player for sale coding is unimportant i only need the retaining clips

when its completed i intend to keep it so you will not see it on ebay lol

i could be wrong but i think the pump requires programming in to the car

I have an idea........why dont you just PM random people asking for advice, and when they say they cant help you but point you in the right direction just give them the finger! :finger:

This is actually a good question ....

Does anyone know whether replacing the power steering pump needs VAG COM Programming ? I would have thought not as it should just pick up the device but you never know these days.

Any ideas?

The only coding or programming would effect the assistance so no I doesnt need authorising or anything.
