Annoyed but secretly pleased...

Featured Replies

This simply would not have happened 5 years ago.

No one would have wanted them.

I come out to Otka from a meeting with one of my clients and some **** has screwdrivered all the badges off her boot lid. :x

They didn't get the one off the front grille though.

Ah well...

Happened to me also. Have been living in the USA for 3 years, returned late last September. Company let me hire a car for the first few weeks back, just happened to be a Fabia diesel. The second night it was parked outside my house, the badges went!

Just proves - you can't trust Northerners, they are all closet Scousers!

In truth though, I find it incredible that people feel the need to do this, be they northerners or southerners. Just what is the point?

I notice that the new Rolls has a retractable mascot on the front, quite a good idea if you ask me.

I thought they did this after some chap was working under his bonnet and

it dropped on him, pushing him onto the mascot? Well I know it

happened, but I don't know if the retracting was done as a

consequence!

Rob.

Maybe it was that chap off the superb advert getting his own back?

Perhaps Skoda could fit a retractable badge like Rolls.

The only reason the Rolls Royce has a retractable 'Spirit of Ecstacy' nowadays is the new tougher pedestrian safety laws , apparrently this was the only way they would still be allowed to fit her to the current cars...notice current Jaguars only have a boring badge on the front instead of the old 'Leaping Cat'.

IIRC Rolls have had a retracting mascot for many years, I grew up in the Engineering area of Crewe, and they had various open days. Prob still do, I do recall seeing a retractable mascot and this would of been in the 80's, prime reason was theft, but it was mentioned that items might be caught on it aswell.

They are also the only manf (back then) to use Citroens suspension technology. As my dad says (Citroen fan to annoy granddad who wasa jag man) that if it's good enough for RR to use, citroen's can't be that bad...no dad of course not!

And the first time I ever felt sick in a car was in the back of Ians (I grew up in the back of citroens and thought I was immune)...but then he was scouting the northern run and I was trying to work/pic/vid on a laptop.
