Lane change indicator, can it be disabled?

Featured Replies

Hi to All

The Fabia indicator column has a function whereby if you briefly flick the column from it's central position, the indicators flash 3 times. Is it possible to disable this facility?

It is proving to be a little annoying for learners.

Chris

Most people who don't have this seem to want it enabled! Not exactly a 'make or break' option to have but I know I found it quite handy on the Fabia, but can understand why it would confuse learners.

Anyway - back to the point. I don't think it can be enabled using VAG-COM, something to do with ECU coding in later cars. So by the same logic, I can't see how it can be disabled.

Steve

I'm pretty sure that there was a coding for it in the ECU to disable it. If a search doesn't turn anything up, drop M-03 a PM - he seems to know his onions :D

Steve, I think the issue was that you couldn't fit the one-touch indicators to newer cars as they require additional hardware (different convenience unit?), but once fitted it's possible to enable/disable it through VAG-COM....

Chris

Ah, OK - fair enough, that makes sense. 'Convenience unit' was the phrase I was looking for! :o
