Stock VRS 0-100 AND 1/4 VS REMAPP VRS any times?

Featured Replies

Hi Folks

I am loooking for a new car at the moment and have heard good things about the VRS (was overtaken very rapidly by a blue one near Alton) I was wondering how fast they really are. I keep seeing 0-60 of 7.9 which doesn't blow my mind but as I know from a few trips to santa pod its the 1/4 and 0-100 which count as a better indicator of performance.

Does anyone have times for a stock VRS vs a (stage 1) remapped one 0-100

The other cars I am considering are a stock bugeye imprezza WRX/ S3/ Civic R/ how would a remapped VRS fair against these. Might have to rule the scooby out as running costs sound cheeky and I like the idea of Q car.

I think standard its 0-100 in roughly 20 seconds. Remapped, your looking at 17-18 seconds. A remapped one would fair well against an Impreza especially a stock bugeyed'. Civic type R again, would be close too, but when speeds get stupid, the Octy will pull through I'd say.

100% guess work but I've tried to compare with other cars that I've driven agaisnt etc.

If standard is 0-100 is 20s my mapped ( 240bhp) would easily be around the 15-16, I think the 0-60 of mine now is around the 6.0-6.2s mark with better tyres etc.

WRX are no problem, STi with little or no work will beat you nearly all the time. CTR are quiet a bit slower than mine, as I went agaisnt my old ITR and won and there faster than the CTR. S3 I'm not sure about too be honest, but 225 TT can just about stick with me. Mine after 100mph is rapid and will keep on pulling fast until the silly 135mph+ mark.

The only big problem with the vRS is it's handling, the scooby will be leagues ahead, and the CTR will also be with the same quality driver. The ITR was a different world apart, but in that scene I was spoilt with the ITR and very much miss that quality when I go on the twisty welsh roads.

i have only done this on a stop watch but my old vrs, witch I thought was standard, did these times on a damp level road.

0-60 7.5 secs

0-100 17.4 secs

0-120 28.3 secs

Hope this gives you some indication.

For those times. It definately wasn't standard.

Like I said it was off a stopwatch so you can give or take half a second or so.

I will have a go in my Octy when I use it next.

And see what the times are for that.

It feels about the same as the old one.

Cheers for the replys guys. It seems that the VRS really gets going once its rolling rather than having an amazing 0-60. The scoobs wrx always post great 0-60s, in the road test I have found for a bug eye stock it ran 60 in 5.8 but didn't hit the ton until 18.3 actually getting beaten to that mark by a clio cup. So maybe in motorway slip road drag there wouldn't be much in it between a wrx and vrs. I like the idea of a scooby but I am not sure I can face the image or the horrendous petrol and insurance costs.

PS I have a race technology ap22 for testing acceleration, it seems fairly accurate if anyone in the basingstoke area want to find out what their car can really do!

the vrs isn't super fast on the move compared to things like the WRX, i have had staged races with a WRX and a fabia vRS on seperate occasions and while i beat the fabia i couldn't quite catch the WRX. this was all on video too :)

have a search on here for the heyford races to see for yourself.
