Hi everyone,my name is Mike and I run a private hire company in the north of Scotland.

I have a problem that I hope someone can advise me on.

I have a 53 plate Octavia sdi , it had a new clutch recently and a couple of days ago the pass. side driveshaft bolts fell out and the driveshaft hit the deck.A mechanic put new bolts in and also a new linkeage bracket,the car is running fine but it will not go into 5th gear,everything looks ok. Has anyone encountered this problem before?,is the gearbox knackered or is there something that can be done?the car has done 120k.

If anyone can advise I would greatly appreciate it .

possibly the rear engine mount is a little loose or broken
