Pirelli Tyres

Featured Replies

Went to the "professionals" at KWIKFIT to day as the front tyres needed changed and the leasing company forces me to go there. Hoping that I could change to Primacy's was told I could have any tyres as long as they were Pirellis. So I asked the fitter to put the new tyres on the back and rotate the back tyres to the front.

Well lets say I was amazed to find they fitted rubber that was cutting edge when the MKII GTI was king - P6000's. Now I feel the backend is quite detached at high speed and I no longer have the confidence to push it. The fact that I cannot find a speed rating on them does not help. Am I worrying about nothing or is it time to drive like Miss Daisy. Thanks

If you are that worried could you not buy your own tyres? A bit extreme but you would have your confidence restored.

I've always found Pirelli P6000 quite good. The speed rating is quite small on them somewhere close to the rim.

I think I can just about remember P6000's, If I remember correctly, the shoulders wear ot very quickly.

Put them on the front and turn the traction control off.

Tell the leasing company that they are crap and wear out too quick.

The p6000s get awful reviews!

If you have to get Pirelli's again get the P Zero Rosso's. Kwikfit were going to charge me £170 for one until I told them to F-off!

The P Zero Nero's are highly rated on this site .... I will not be getting Primacy's again

I ran a genuine Mk 1 mini (before the square rear lights) and it was a dream on Pirelli Cinturatos.

Upgraded to an Austin 1300 and had Cinturatos fitted. They failed with sidewall problems after a very short time. Pirelli gave a full refund and I changed to a different make.

If your tires fail fairly quickly try the unfit for purpose route and you may be able to get a refund.

I second the P Zero Nero's or the Rosso's. I have the Zero Nero's on my car and found them much better than the stock Primacy's.

I used to have Pirelli 6000's on my old Fiat, used to think they were soo good compared to my Dunlops that I had on before, but after a short while they were just as bad.
