hi guys and girls,

has anyone with a remapped pd130 noticed that the engine sounds more knocky at low revs, cos ive just mapped the fabia and it seems to have a louder diesel knock. it only sounds noisy untill the turbo spools then its fine.

just wondered if anyone else had noticed this?

Can't say I have, but to keep your clutch in shape it is worth not booting it below 2k rpm, just feed in the power.

The only other thing I can think of that might give weird noises would be the DMF, which can vibrate if you boot it too low down in the rev range due to not being able to handle the torque. That doesn't sound like a diesel knocking though, at least not from what I remember.

Bit of a long shot but try taking off the engine cover and see if the noise goes. I had a similar problem and found that the top left of the cover was vibrating on the pipe coming up from the intercooler. Mine was there before I had the remap done so don't know if that would affect it. Worth a go though.

Yes I thought mine was too, on start up from cold in the morning, but once its hot its fine.

A small price to pay I think for the big smile factor.

checked the intercooler pipe whilst fitting the pd160 air intake today. think mine must have been hitting the engine cover. also found that the engine cover had sawed thro the vacumm pipe that connects to the top of the egr valve :eek:

think ive done well today, killed three birds with one stone. the car is much quiter now and smokes alittle bit less now thanks to the cupra cold air feed pipe mod.
