How to feed RCA cable down centre of car?

Featured Replies

I've read a couple of posts where people have suggested running rca cables down the middle of the car and was wondering how easy it is to do? Thanks to another post I now know how to remove the ashtray and handbrake cover, can the rest be removed to make it easier or should I push it through with a wire coathanger or something? Any tips would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the link but that's the one I followed for routing the power along with the help of a couple of people off this forum - it's routing the rca cables down tunnesl between the seats I need details on. Cheers anyway.

I just ran mine down one side of the car and ran the speaker wires down the other to avoid interference. works fine for me

I was really lazy, and ran them both on the pass side tucking it under the door trim, works fine.

under the carpet then under the rear bench. a bit awkward but remove as much interior trim around the area as possible ad it's not too bad :)

Tempted to do the same myself but was worried about interference - might give it a go and then change it if it causes a probem.

Did this in my toledo, just undo the centre console, run the wire underneath, then have great fun pulling and tugging the carpet to get the cable through!

Hi I put my RCA's down the centre, it wasn't too hard, just remove the rearmost ashtray and undo the two torx screws the bit around the hand brake will just pull off now, then I loosened the hand brake bolt which also holds the front part of the trim and and lifted it sligtly you also need to remove the front ashtray and unclip the gearstick gator you should have good access by then. Oh and before you start I DO have an interferance problem but not sure where it is commin from! I have two pairs of RCAs running rearward and a set of speaker cable runin back up to the front all down the centre but i only have interferance in the rear speakers!

^Check your earth, make sure its at a good point
