Adrian Flux Insurance - Cooling Off Period

Featured Replies

As some of you may know, the Furby goes today - I'll be sad to see it go but it's time for a change. I only insured the car with Adrian Flux about 10 days ago and they want

Why not just let the insurance run instead of paying the cooling off fee ?

Is it going to be a while till you re-insure a car ?

No, I pick up a Smart Roadster Coupe Brabus today but AF wanted £950 to insure a car with a 698CC engine - cheaper to pay the fee and go elsewhere :thumbdwn:

Time to go put the car back to standard methinks!

I see. Thats small print for you. The barstewards.

That £950 price is just silly. Must be something to do with 101bhp and it weighing as much as a postage stamp.

I'd love a Roaster Brabus.

I drove the smart fortwo brabus about 2 years ago and what a car that was. People dont give it them time of day as they think smarts are rubbish. But the drive and the thrill i got from the little monster was amazing. The one i drove had the exhaust pack on it and the noise from the little beast was just brilliant. (think i mentioned that before a few weeks ago to you).

If your ever at a meet, youll have to take me for a spin.

Hope you enjoy the new motor.

Have you tried Chriss Knott for your insurance, did me a good deal, i took up with them this week.

If you liked the fortwo definetly have a go in a roadster - even the 80bhp ones are really great fun to drive! I even got the **** out on the 80bhp test drive and that was with the ESP turned on!

Not actually seen or driven the one I'm buying but with 25% more power and the same power\weight as the fabia with mods it's looking pretty good. Gearbox isn't great and really reduces the 0-60 time though :(

I'll defo pop along to a meet sometime with it so you can all waste me off the lights - I'll soon get it back in the twisties though

I thought the Brabus had a "remapped" gearbox to make changes much faster and smoother than the original? At least I remember Clarkson spouting words to that effect

The Brabus is a great wee car but for me it would have to be a Smart Diablo with a Suzuki GSXR 1000 engine ! :D

Oooh! I'll let you know this evening!

A Flux suck donkey todger.

Useless for poilcy documents and refunds in my experience.

ME:"I'd like to insure my Nova GSi"

AF:"Certainly sir, from our records i can see that you have two years no-claims bonus with us"

ME:"Okay, what price will it be?"

AF:"Around £800 ish, sounds good." (I was young once)

Couple of days later - 'It appears that you haven't sent us a copy of your no-claims bonus.'

ME:"Hi got a leter asking for my no-claims bonus, you said I have it - never sent me it - can you check your records?"

AF:"No sir, we haven't got that on record AND we didn't tell you that"

ME:"Rant, moan, complain, nothing! Okay what is the policy going to cost now then - £1100 - balls to that, what can you quote me for 3rd party only?"

AF:"£400 "

ME:"Well I suppose I'll have to take that then as you've taken my money"

It took them two months to process a refund for something that is their fault!
