AUA/B Engines and Piston Rings

Featured Replies

Hello All,

My Fabia 1.4 16v estate with 39000 miles on could be heading towards the piston ring problem I've read about a few times on past threads. One thread mentioned that SKoda contribute towards the cost of this as it is a "known" problem.

Has anyone benefitted from Skoda's "offer"?

Anyone know how they can get away without doing a recall?

If its not safety related, no recall is necessary. It may be offered, but it is most likely that the cost of settling the odd warranty claim/goodwill gesture is less expensive than doing piston ring swaps on thousands of engines...
