Tracking after eibach springs?

Featured Replies

Recently got my eibach springs fitted to my fabia vrs.... since having it done my steering wheel is squint and the wheel wobbles about a lot above 50mph....

Is this just the tracking?

Tracking wont cause wheel wobble, thats something that it turning. ie wheels, tyres, driveshaft etc.

Tracking or wheel alighment to give it the correct term will cause the vehcile to pull and the wheel to be out. Full four wheel alignment should be chacked and adjusted after any suspensin work.

However a lowered car will have increased negative camber and this will make the car more likely to follow undulations in the road.

I meant steering wheel wobble.... ? Confusing already!

I know, steering wheel wobble is caused by out of balance wheels/tyres or a defective driveshaft etc. If has to be tunring to generate the vibration. Alignment wont do this.

wheel wobble is usually tyre balance , did it not wobble before the springs were fitted ?

sorry if this sounds a bit obvious but also make sure the wheels are not loose

the tracking should be checked and adjusted as necessary after any work is done on the front suspension

when i fitted my Eibachs , i was lucky enough not to have to adjust mine

Never wobbled before springs were fitted... So i should ask for tracking and balancing at garage?

yes

they may have knocked a weight off a rim when they had the wheels off , or put out of balance rear wheels/tyres on the front
