little problem today

Featured Replies

Left work today pulled away and was greeted with beeping and lots of lights on the dash:confused:

Stopped, turned off the ignition and gave it a minute and retarted and the engine management light was lit:thumbdwn:

Not wanting to risk anything phoned skoda assist and they were great, told me it was best to chk it out so arrived within 20 mins, plugged in (did tell me the fault code but confused him a bit, something to do with comms) reset the light and told me to take it for a drive to

see if it came back on.

Drove round for 10mins and all was fine so left for home and all ok for my 45 mile journey home:)

What could that have been, anyone had anything similar happen?

Sometimes you can get intermittent communication breakdowns between vital parts of the car. Was probably just a one-off to be honest - Mine has never done this. Can you remember which lights came on at all?

I pulled away and I remember ABS, Airbag, Engine management, seatbelt, handbrake, and a few more (i think)

Must admit I did s*it myself a bit!:D

Probably a comms breakdown between the dashpod and the ECU then. No single thing could trigger all those lights, and as I think you said, it's all OK now.

Thanks for putting my mind at rest (pretty much confirmed how I feel about it) I know electronics can occassionally glitch (I should know I work with it all day:) )

I had something similar on my previous Fabia - it was the lamba probe. The light came on about a minute after driving off, so I returned home and waited a bit. Turned the engine on again and it seemed ok, but came on again a couple of minutes after driving off. The guy from AA came to have a look but he didn't have the 2.0i settings on his gizmo. However, in my case, I still drove it and saw the dealer within 200 miles (my journey then was 175 miles).

So, my guess is that you could see this light come on again and it would be wise to have it fully checked out as soon as you can.
