How to disable quick flick of indicator stalk = 3 flashes

Featured Replies

SWMBO's Fabia is going in for first service this week, does anyone know if it is a quick job for the dealer to disable the "quick flick of indicator stalk = 3 flashes" function? I'm hoping it's just controller reprogramming....

Personally, I love the feature, but it drives her crazy!

if i had a choice i would keep it. when changing between two lanes with little or no traffic near you you just give it a quick flick and move and then its off. love it!

I hate it, so if anyone knows a way to recode it with VAG-COM I'd be interested. Hell, if anyone knows how to turn off the extra sweep of the wipers a few seconds after using the washers, I'd like to turn that off too.

Best feature i've had on any car i've had IMO!

Someone in Ask a Tech will probably be able to help.

It's a VAG-COM thing on the Octy II, I can't remember on the Fabia.

Set it to 0 IIRC.

Myself I think both are great functions.

I would imagine it would be a similar procedure for the indicators if it were possible.

Try and convince her that she is the problem in this case :)

It's an excellent function. One which I miss from my Fabia. Shame the Leon doesn't have it :(

I'm actually not surprised that your wife wants to get rid of an excellent function. Women tend (not all) to have strange ideas.

When choosing a new TV last week, my wife wouldnt entertain a Samsung because it was " too shiney". You have my sympathy mate.

Remedy: Tell her it cant be disabled. I had to pay £200 more and get a Sony!!

If I tell you her annual mileage means that her car is serviced every 12 months, you'll see that this idea hasn't worked...

Good news - SWMBO asked the dealer when she dropped her car off this morning... When she picked it up they reported that they had to contact Skoda UK for info and that the "feature" had now been disabled. Even better, they made no charge for the work and just charged the price quoted for the 1st service before this extra job was mentioned

Personally, I'm gonna miss this "feature", but at least someone's happy now :)
