Has anyone changed the window cables on their Fabia???

We spent hours removing the door card and gubbins around it to access the glass as it was catching and also found the cable to be shredded and twisted around various places including around the motor.

Anyway it is impossible to access the glass behind the door card as there are ten rivets holding a metal panel which would indicate they have to be drilled out.

This looks a nightmare job.

Anyone done this or can offer advice???

it will require a new window regulator , i think a few on here have done the repair , there will be a hole in the panel to undo the glass from the regulator , then slide the glass to the top of the frame them a couple of strips of masking tape across the door top onto the glass should hold it up

then drill out all the rivets , remove any electrical equipment from the panel , then the inner panel should come off with the regulator attached , fit new regulator and refit panel etc

might be a how to in the Haynes manual also
