Back to topic pleeeeeeeeease.

.........and the flames start all over again.

 Class

you don't know how much I earn or anyone else earns so pls....shhh

just because people don't buy a BMW and buy a Skoda does not mean in any way that they arn't doing well in life....they just choose others things to spend their money on.... you plonker

and as for the BMW comments you prove me right yet again in the fact that BMW drivers are dicks.

pls pls back to the topic

My comment was said in jest. Like yours.

Yes you are 100% right though, different people spend their money on different things, and cars are not a sign of wealth.

My parents being a grand example, own 3 large houses mortgage free in the UK.

They share a MKIV Golf Tdi and will not part with it.

On another note, call me a ***** again and I'll break your legs :)

Back on topic, SWMBO has a city coupe ( not a fortwo), eldest had a roadie, till recently.

The roadie was a complete hoot to drive, specially in the summer with the roof down, it ALWAYS turned heads, it is a completely different drive to the furby, the feeling of speed in the roadie, cos of its proximity to he groung was ,one of the reasons I really liked his car.

The comment about the gearbox, is quite true, but I find even now driving SWMBO's smart, that by not releasing the ' go faster ' pedal when changing up helps a little, if you treat it like a manual box, then the gearchange can be jerky.

The new AC version of the roadie should be interesting.

Enjoy the roadie :)

I'm not sure why you said that you had a BMW and I couldn't afford one? that is a bit of a lame thing to say. I couldn't care less if you earned more than me anyway.

I called you a ****? can you not read? (something to add to the default BMW driver stereotype maybe?)

Still my comments stand you BMW driver

(child mode off)

 I've found that same - if you don't move your right foot when you change gear, it seems to engage much quicker.

I've also found that changing gear slightly earlier than you would in a manual helps, as it then usually disengages and re-engages at the right time...

and a BMW too.. not doing bad for yourself.

but did they pay for yours?

:)

No, the reason they have a Golf is they do not see the point in these 'sports cars' they're getting on and not long for this world (not looking for a sob, thats life)

They would never spend that amount on a car, let alone on a car for me, countless times I have been told to put money in property, and they have a point it's a better investment.

But I want a balance, nice car, nice house and comfortable.

Now i've selected - "ignore user" on a couple of posters in here, this thread looks pretty alright again.

That Brabus roadster looks ace!! I sat in a Brabus "For Two" at a motorshow - 2004 i think, and loved it. Having a small child etc ruled one out really :(

me?

but did they pay for yours?

:)

Have you finished now? Or would you like to see my bank statements?

You sarcastic **** (a clue the first letter is a c)

Smart forums, that's where II get my info from.

I'd still look into it further than putting my trust in a handfull of members on a Skoda forum tbh.

Cheek ! I owned 3 highly modified smarts in 5yrs and I'm currently looking for No4 ! If any of you with smart owning partners would care to check the site you will see some very good mods for improving the gearshift - one in particular requiring only a sharp knife and 3 blobs of superglue.

And once remapped and with the intake mods the smart can be driven VERY quickly and smoothly (lifting on gear changes), but it can be a hedge-seeking missile at times.

Check me on the smartclub site, I'm the argumentative one [:)]

No not cheek, honesty.

I am not a trusting person, beacause most people can't be trusted.

 reading this gibberish has really made me smile - I do find the banter in this forum of the very uneducated i.e. is **** the best retorte you can give?

Another thing is where are the moderators? I could write here I think all Vrs owers are total ***** nothing would happen (note that is purely for illustrative purposes Mr Moderator & other users in this forum) most other quality car forums any rubbish etc the thread is deleted and users are warned and can/are deleted as users.

;)

I agree with Welshy. I chose to read this thread because the subject sounded interesting. Little did I know that I'd be reading such a load of childish rubbish. Grow up guys, do you really think the rest of us want to read your childish posts?

Welshy - are you perchance another member with a bmw interest? (aka a **** as far as the local parlance stretches)

it seems that there are 2 types of bmw owners - those with a sense of humour and others like "silverspoon" Daz who merely reinforce the stereotype.

I saw your comments on Jasons thread ref the M5 - interesting choice ref wanting numbers or speed - personally an E30 m3 evo3 would give more speed despite its numbers imho....

Redbaron you've clearly posted to provoke, can I ask why?

Wow! What have I started?

In answer to the Smart posts I'm not planning to remap it (it's got a bhp/ton of 118.5 which is exactly what my Furby had with a tuning box so it's quick enough) but I am finding ways to smooth the gearchange by playing around.

I've registered on www.smartmaniacs.co.uk but there's hundreds of sites so it's difficult to know what's the best one - TheRoadster.net - Smile! Its a Smart Roadster! looks pretty good for technical info but not a lot of activity on the forums. I've already sent an Octy fancier this way too :D

I'll get some decent photos once it's had a wash (and is with me - it's currently at work and I'm in an A3 - which feels like a huge, lumbering barge after 5 days in the Roadie!), being black it shows the dirt a lot and being so low it gets everyone's spray and crud even leaving large distances (which you have to cos you can't see through the car in front like you normally can!).

Thanks for all the positive feedback on the car, expected a flaming (my bro calls it the gaymobile  ) so it's pleasant to see some nice posts.

Now if only you lot were so nice about Fabias
