Driving With No PAS

Featured Replies

Just remembered I wanted to ask this :

Does anyone know whether driving a Skoda 1.4MPI with no PAS for a long time will damage anything?

Its been six months, but only about 1K miles since my PAS failed.... and after changing the pump it didnt fix the issue.

I dont think youll break anything (else) but your car will not go through its MOT in that state! Can you drive it okay , or is it a struggle? You dont want to be pulled over by the Police , would they not have issues about driving with no power assistance?...ie in an emergency situation???

TBH PAS doesn't do a great deal at speed anyway, it's more useful for parking (IMHO).

That said I'd get it fixed, coz as Duncan says I doubt the law would be too impressed ;)
