Pass door window switch

Featured Replies

Mate of mine has an X-plate 1.4 Comfort. On Sunday, with the snow we had here, he put the window down to clear the snow that had built up round the nearside wing mirror.

Anyway, a clump of snow came in and landed on top of the window switch. This promptly melted and now the switch won't work. If he operates the window from the driver controls, it's fine.

Any fix for this? Take the cover off and try and assess the damage? Likely solution?

Cheers,

Steve.

If wetness has got into the switch , maybe it will be okay when its dried out? The fact that the window works from the other side means it isn't a fuse or anything serious , so maybe take it out , make sure its dry , and give it a squirt of something? WD40 or that spray thats used to clean electrical contacts and switches?

Cheers, that was pretty much my thinking. Told him how to get the cover off anyhow. He just gave me a lift home in it tonight and told me.
