Our Fabia VRS 2006 model went in for the intermittant engine stutter at about 1700rpm.

My local Skoda agent could not fix it, the service manager has agreed there is a stutter & even admitted their demo car does it to.

However he says there is no Skoda fix, the fix that he is aware of, is to change a gaskget to a thicker one, but that then takes the engine out of specification with regards to the emissions.

He was very helpfull & has promised to investigate with Skoda UK.

Has anyone actually had a fix done by a Skoda agent ???.

I spoke to someone at a dealership that owns an 06 Fabia vRS and they had the stutter fixed by their own tech with the gasket change.

I've always wondered this , but could the stutter be remapped away?

No I'm pretty sure it can't. However as already mentioned you should read the pinned thread. All the info is there already...

Just use VAG COM to disable the EGR valve and don't tell anyone.

Yours could be affected too. If it's not (and you would know) then I wouldn't worry

I have a 56 plate Fabia, in the 2500 miles I've been driving it, I have only had the stutter two or three times and even in these cases it has a been a minor hesitation not the wild judder others have described. This implies to me that, yes, Skoda can do something about the Stutter - after all it's pretty much fixed in the newer cars.

Had mine done just before xmas....the less than accurate mpg readout has indicated the economy increasing by around 3 mpg....but the best bit it that there is no stutter and the car feels more responsive
