Favorit GLXie heater switch.

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

Found this site just before x-mas!

The Skoda is not a bad little car for

The thermostat is peanuts from a dealer, and 3 bolts and 1 screw to DIY... I reckon under £20 to sort!

Welcome. Hope you get the heater fixed OK.

Welcome.

As others said, the thermostat's under £20 to fix using new parts; maybe more like £30 if you want to buy a maintenance manual first.

As for the fan only working on the lowest setting, it's more usual for this to happen other way about (and for it to fail on the low setting but work on higher ones) but I'd suspect that the problem's in the electrics for the control switch. Another cheap DIY fix.

Also, you did mean Seven Thousand Three Hundred miles from new!?

the fan only working on certain settings is caused by a series resistor up behind the glovebox, they only cost a few quid but they are a bugger to change

If your cars overheating Id suggest you make sure you radiator fans are coming on. Very Very common for the switch in the radiator to stop working and so you fans dont come on when things get warm. Particularly in traffic queues.

Welcome to the world of the Skoda favorit, delightfully cheap to run fun to drive, Also one of the nicest cars to work on, nice big wide open engine bay and relatively simple.
