Removing cupholder / tray assembly?!

Featured Replies

Tried to remove the DIN cupholder tray setup tonight, but it seems to be very stuck and I'm afraid to yank on anything too hard in case I snap something.... Hmmm, why does that sound rude to me!?

Anyway - Is there a logical way to get this tray out? The best purchase I can get on it is on the two slide out trays, when they're shut. It's out about 1/2 an inch, but will not move further - the whole dashboard moves with it when I try to shake it out. I could do without having to remove the headunit, but if needs must? :)

remove the audio unit Jase , it will come out easy then

Yes, take the stereo out. I have still got my cupholder downstairs. will take a look at the clips, back in a mo.

back.

On the side, their are retaining clips on each side. They need to be pressed in with a flat blade, open each tray an insert a flat item into the side and wiggle. The top one will be more difficult due to the cubby hole edging.

edit again, added picture.

Right - Think I still have my pioneer radio keys in the car. :o Poor old Pembo paid for this unit a week ago and it's still in my car.

BTW - Anyone got the standard wide cubbyhole DIN thing lying about? I'm having a rethink on gauge layout, so might need a replacement for the cupholder. :o

Mine will be hacked into shape to be fitted underneath the aircon controls, at least that is the plan at the moment :)

I have the standard din aperture and I'll happily swap it plus some beer tokens if you're getting rid of the cupholder and drawer ;)
