Recirculated air mode

Featured Replies

ok this is going to sound stupid, but why does recirculated air mode turn on when the car is in reverse, or is this a fault on my car lol

Also recirculated mode keeps turning itself off every 5 seconds in the morning, when i want it on! I keep having to re-press the button (another fault?)

cheers

The first one is to prevent fumes entering the cabin

ahh fair play, good idea. not mentioned in the manual tho (although I havent looked hard)

Which position do you have the dials in when recirc turns itself off? I believe if it's set to windscreen it'll do this, but I could be wrong :o

Chris

Nope you're right :P

Recirc comes on when engaging reverse, it comes off when the directional dial is set to windows.

The only time I turn my recirc on is when there is a real need for it, say I'm behind Jason :P, or there is a fire or something. Fresh air is quite useful :)

I only use recirc to heat the car up quicker in the morning (ie so its not trying to continually heat very cold air from outside). And yes the book mentions it will turn off with window only setting, but i have it on window/feet setting. I guess it treats that the same as window.

The only time I turn my recirc on is when there is a real need for it, say I'm behind Jason :P

you would be better off getting night vision/thermal imaging goggles to see when driving behind jason

Hehehehe :D

Re circ will shut off if there is a fault with the flap motor or its setting. Best get the fault codes read off.
