Mods before a remap

Featured Replies

I'm looking to get a remap shortly when my VRS is due for a service. I'm not looking to spend a lot more than the remap, but is there anything worth doing that will not cost a huge amount more, but is worthwhile doing. e.g.

decat ? or sports cat - not sure if you need to replace the rest of the exhaust

air filter ?

anything else ?

Have a search for the worthwhile mods guide.

Has everything you want to know in that.

Or do a search through out the forum...plenty of threads on jsut this matter.

I found the BMC CDA box is the best single mod i done to the car and is certainly the cheapest, its give the better throttle responce and you hear the dumping sound which is always nice

yeah i have a dump valve fitted which is obviously worthwile. I have had a look around but nothing solid on what exactly are the limiting points of the 1.8T

for eample a TIP might be only worthwhile if you have a intercooler.

While a air filter is probably not benifical until your adding further mods.

I could look at a TIP, CAI but at this point will do nothing as the exhaust is the limited factor.

Mate, with Forge 007 dv, Neuspeed Tip, 100cel cat and Miltek exhaust running with a Carbonio CAI mine made 198bhp before remap.....

HTH

Phil.............. Now have Forge FMIC to fit:rolleyes:
