Featured Replies

Ex demo car and one prior owner - So two previous owners.

Its got 30K miles and in good nick..

Would I get 2.5 K for it?

Or what would you be targeting

You might just get that. I have virtually the same car as you (apart from the alloys) and I was offered £2150 as a 1st offer from a garage on a trade in just before Xmas (against an Octavia vRS) , as I said mine hasnt got alloys , and has 34500 on the clock , it has also has the same amount of owners as yours (2 private plus dealer demo-including me!).Also yours has metallic paint.

That price was obtained without haggling , so I'm pretty sure if you get a dealer who wants to sell a car , and you do a bit of bargaining , you should be able to get quite close to your target price. I wouldnt take less than £2200 for your car if I was you BTW.

But what they offer you for your car as a prt ex is normally nowhere near what you would get if you sold it private - Ie You would get a lot less ....

Parkers have it as 2K and they are optimistic so I am thingking a little less?

I dunno , I always thought yu got more if you sold a car private rather than trading it in? The price the garage gave me was from the CAP 'Black Book' website , I watched them look it up.

i think 2k is a fair price for that

Sorry, I have just stumbled onto this website, and saw this post so could I just ask whether its a 8v or a 16v?

Thanks:)

Mpi cars are 8 valve.

as stated above, the mpi cars are indeed 8v.... but there is also another model available with 1.4-16v engine:)

How many faults does your car have currently?

PAS light on, noisy wheel bearings etc will mean a potential buyer may well haggle.
